DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL DISORDERS OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Department of Children's, Adolescent Psychiatry and Medical and Social Rehabilitation of the PPI was created at 1994. Over the years existence institute repeatedly changed the name of the department, he was reorganized into a branch, a sector within the department social problems of therapy of mental disorders. In 2014 a department of mental disorders for children and adolescents was established.
Since its inception, the department is headed by Ph.D. Igor A. Martsenkovskiy.
As of 01.09.2017 in the department work:
Basic tasks department
1. Research on child and adolescent psychiatry, medical and social problems of children and adolescents with disabilities due to mental and behavioral disorders, pharmacotherapy, planning and coordination of research in these areas.
2. Scientific development and introduction of highly effective medical technologies and methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders of children and adolescents.
3. Study, analysis and development of recommendations on the use in Ukraine of foreign experience on the problems of therapy of mental disorders of children and adolescents.
4. Scientific substantiation and improvement of organizational forms of psychiatric care, rehabilitation and social protection of mentally ill children and adolescents.
5. Scientific development of issues of epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and social consequences of mental illnesses of children and adolescents.
6. Training of scientific personnel of the highest qualification of candidates and doctors of sciences.
7. Providing advice and organizational-methodological assistance to health facilities, which are located on the base of clinical department.
8. Delivery of high quality care for children and parties of adolescence, participation in psycho - medical, educational, forensic psychiatric examinations.
9. Organize and participate in regional, national and international scientific conferences, meetings, workshops on social psychiatry and pharmacotherapy.
10. Organization and implementation of training and educational activities to improve the skills of children's mental health in the field of medical and social problems of therapy of mental disorders of children and adolescents.
11. Creation of information data banks on the directions of the institute: normative legal, administrative, medical-statistical, scientific-medical, medical-economic, epidemiological information, etc., and ensuring its timely updating.
